Important Update Regarding RemoteControl App

At Phonak, we strive to make world-class products which deliver the best possible outcomes and experiences for people with hearing loss. Our principal goal is to support Hearing Care Professionals by providing the most innovative technology along with outstanding service and support.

We would like to inform you of some changes relating to our “RemoteControl App”. Due to recent software updates from Apple, Phonak’s RemoteControl App will be phased out from 15th October 2019. All users of the Phonak RemoteControl app who have upgraded their iPhone to iOS 13 will no longer be able to pair with the app. Users who have not yet updated to iOS 13 or are using Android smartphones can still use the app with their current software version. The phase-out will remove the app from the Google Play (Android) & Apple (iOS) App stores, however, for the unaffected users who already have the app installed it will continue to work on their current software version.

Please note that music streaming and phone calls can still be used between the devices, as they use a Bluetooth Classic connection which is independent of the app. It is only the app pairing which no longer works with the iOS 13 update.

Affected Devices:
The app is used with the following hearing aid platforms and devices:

Venture, Belong, ComPilot II, ComPilot Air II

Unfortunately, there is no equivalent RemoteControl app available for the above hearing aid and digital wireless accessories. However, please note this change will not impact our latest Marvel devices. Along with Audeo B-Direct, Marvel devices are compatible with the Remote Control functionality in the newly released MyPhonak App.

For ComPilot II and ComPilot Air II, it’s recommended that users use the remote control functionality available through the product as an alternative to the app.
